Editing movies
When editing movies, use a sufficiently charged battery to prevent the camera from turning off during editing.
Extracting only the desired portion of a movie
The desired portion of a recorded movie can be saved as a separate file.
- Play back a desired movie and pause at the start point of the portion that you want to extract (Operations during movie playback).
- Use the multi selector
to select the
control, and then press the
button.
- Use
to select
(choose start point).
- Use
or rotate the command dial to move the start point.
- To cancel editing, select
(back), and press the
button.
- Use

to select
(choose end point).
- Use
or rotate the command dial to move the end point.
- To preview the specified portion, use
to select
and then press the
button. Press the
button again to stop previewing.

(save) and press the
button.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to save the movie.
Notes about movie extracting
Saving a frame from a movie as a still image
The desired frame of a recorded movie can be extracted and saved as a still image.
- Pause a movie and display the frame to be extracted (Operations during movie playback).
- Use the multi selector
to select the
control, and then press the
button.
- Select [Yes] when a confirmation dialog is displayed, and press the
button.
- The still image is saved with [Normal] as the image quality. The image size is determined by the original movie image size (Movie options).
