d2: Maximum Shots per Burst

G button U A Custom Settings menu

The maximum number of shots that can be taken in a single burst in continuous release modes can be set to “∞” (no limit) or to any value between 1 and 200.

  • The maximum number of shots is fixed to 200 even if “∞” (no limit) is selected when a setting other than [Electronic shutter] is set for Custom Setting d6 [Shutter type].
  • No limits are placed on the number of shots that can be taken in a single burst when shutter speed is set to 1 s or slower in mode S or M.

The Memory Buffer

Custom Setting d2 [Maximum shots per burst] is used to select the number of shots that can be taken in a single burst. The number of shots that can be taken before the memory buffer fills and shooting slows varies with image quality and other settings. When the buffer is full, the camera will display “r000” and the frame advance rate will drop.
